Discussing the application of new technologies in New Zealand libraries

Hi team,

Just an update on progress here.

I have added DPL to the YouTube mix our channel is http://nz.youtube.com/dunedinlibraries and carries clips of artists performing in our spaces during NZ Music Month.

We're turning 100 later this year so have started a Wikipedia entry as part of our centenary project work. You can view this work in progress here http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dunedin_Public_Libraries

Latest pictures from Turn Off TV Week etc are on Flickr.com at http://www.flickr.com/photos/dunedinpubliclibraries/

Busy days... hope everyone is well and staying warm..

Cheers

Paul

Awesome stuff Paul, I really enjoyed the music vids.

You should think about promoting it to the wider library community eg nzlibs etc - lay down the gauntlet as it were!

Thanks Sean can you email me directly with some suggested links etc to do just that. I'm still quite new to the scene and not up to speed with all of the best lists etc to subscribe to :-)

Hi Paul

this is great news! I'll have to check the vids out when I get home tonight...

Keep us updated as to how it's going.

Thanks Kris... yes it's going well I have 20 videos up as of today and adding more each day as various bands and other members of the public come in and use our spaces...

I've just upgraded our Flickr.com account to a 'pro' version as it offers more in the way of additional photo sets and collections.

Wikipedia - have not been as busy on this in recent weeks but we are getting folks adding to it - sometimes not for the best but hey that's why we can undo edits etc.. overall this has been well received by all involved.

Hi Paul, I don't have your private email but the itsig wiki has a current list of lists as it were... I'd recommend at least pub and nz-libs as appropriate audiences, and good ones for a public librarian to join. You might also well consider ITSIG although as a web 2-er I find it rather dry and technical.
