Thanks Kris. I think my research project is growing by the day as I discover new and exciting ways of using Library 2.0. Have you checked out the new Christchurch teen website, The Pulse at http://thepulse.org.nz/ ? And Wellington Public's Teen Blog at http://www.wcl.govt.nz/blogs/teens/ is also great. I have just received my research proposal back, with comments, so I am now able to concentrate on my research. thank goodness for the school holidays starting this weekend. Trish

Hi Kris

It was nice to meet you at Te Papa - glad you found the presentation useful. I'm going to update it with more of the sites I referenced and then throw it up on our blog - I'll leave a link here later today / tomorrow. Here's the link to my ma.gnolia bookmarks in the meantime.

And I agree with you that the GLAM sector (not that I'm sure it's really a sector yet) needs to figure out how (and when) to engage with it's audiences online, and I think your comments were really useful for the group.

Kris, yes, I've talked to Beverly, and will be part of the group looking at the 'virtual' conference, whatever that turns out to be. You seem to be making a good start!

I joined the NZ network. But does that mean to view profiles from outside my network I have to join their network? Ridiculous!

Hi Kris yeah cool fun huh :D

I've got one more assignment to hand in on my current paper and then I'm going to get down to the serious business of imparting my vision to the world through the blog... I have generated a list of about 8 ideas so (with weekly updates being the plan) I've got my first two months planned.

Hi Kris,

back to reality

I went to the digital futures 2.0 summit and the national digital forum last week. Loved both of them, not entirely sure what this means for my library - I've still got to sort that out for my report. Quick thoughts...

Collaboration is the new black. No wait, sustainability is the new black.

Broadband is going to save us - if only we can keep the power on

Broadband is only an enabler, it'll be useless if we can't figure out what to do with it

photo schmoto

rodneylibraries was informed that one of our photos had been selected for inclusion in a schmap guide http://www.schmap.com/company/about_schmap.shtml after lots of deliberation I decided not to accept because it was a photo of the back rooms at the museum. It would be a false representation of what people could see in the library. do I feel bad? yip. It would have been great publicity for our Flickr.

comms conference 08

I'm working on the comms plan for LIANZA conference 2008. It's version 3. I hope to be up to versino 100 by conference time. Actually, that may be a tad unrealistic because that means 2 revisions every week. Much too much work. :)
